We talked about the moon, sun, planets and stars. We created our own constellations and made a night sky out of graham crackers, frosting, nilla wafers and sprinkles! Dinosaurs is a popular topic which we learned about fossils, names of dinosaurs and the word "extinction". We made a stegosaurus tail out of bananas, peanut butter and candy! We had loads of fun during Circus week! We created our own circus by wearing clown hats and pretended to walk the tight rope and had a clown parade through the toddler playground! We ate popcorn and peanuts and decorated our classroom with swinging acrobats and elephants and clowns!

We can't believe it is the end of another school year!! The year has flown by right before our eyes. This is a hard time for teachers as we begin to say goodbye to the children who will go off to kindergarten. It has been a pleasure for us all to be part of such an important phase of your child's life. Thank you for allowing us to teach, nurture and love your children. We know they will go on to have a successful kindergarten year. We will miss them so much and hope they come back to visit often. Please keep in touch and let us know how your children are doing.

It is difficult to believe the school year is almost over! I have enjoyed all the children in the Red Group this year. You are all so lucky to have such wonderful children. Our group enjoyed making gifts and discussing our mothers and special women in our lives. Our Cinco de Mayo celebration was fun. We had burritos for snack, danced to festive music and even took turns hitting a piñata filled with candy. We also learned about the planets in our solar system. We painted and colored and learned interesting facts. During May we also made various dinosaur projects and learned that the Tyrannosaurus Rex is the king of all dinosaurs. We also had fun doing circus activities and exercises that involved a tightrope to balance on without falling.
We will kick off this month by visiting the wild, wild west discovering the roles of cowboys and cowgirls. We will also make boots with spurs and horses. Feel free to wear western wear that week. We will also discuss the importance of fathers and grandfathers and make gifts for the special men in our lives. We would love to see you wearing something that belongs to dad or grandpa on Thursday, June 16th. With the

It's amazing that our traditional school year is almost over but summer fun is almost here. We have been working hard on recognizing colors. Yellow and Orange were used on the hand painted dish towels the children made for Mother's Day gifts. Brown and Green were emphasized during dinosaur week. Our Cinco De Mayo celebration was lots of fun with all the festive music, dancing and hitting a piñata. Circus week was interesting as we talked and sang about everything under the big top.
We will kick off June by visiting the wild, wild west with stories and a visit from Cupcake the Pony. If you have western wear make sure to wear it that week. We will also have a week of discussions about the farm and farm animals. Toddlers always love this week as we will enjoy flapjacks, purple milk and other fun farm activities. Dads and Grandpas will be the focus during the middle of the month and we will also have a week of talking about our healthy bodies.
Teachers Chris and Karen will miss the kids who are leaving the Toddler Group to move to older classes.
